What is Bankruptcy

Normally if you hear or see the word bankruptcy, you reject the idea as something that is to be avoided at all costs.

This is because of the stigma surrounding the bankruptcy process that has built up over many years.

However the bankruptcy process has been brought up to date. This means that for many people bankruptcy is an ideal solution which will quickly resolve a difficult debt problem.

If you are living in rented accommodation, you can declare bankruptcy without the risk of losing your home or any of your household assets. Your debts will be taken away from you immediately and you will only have to make payments towards them if you can afford to do so.

Home owners often believe that they cannot declare bankruptcy because they will lose their home. However, if your home has little or no equity in it, then it is not at risk. Even if there is equity in the property, the house can still be saved.

The bottom line is that if you have a serious debt problem, you should definitely find out more about bankruptcy and consider it as a very real option.
